My name is Judi Simkin, I am the founder and owner of Senior Move Specialists ® A senior move management business, I established to assist seniors with all aspects of organizing, downsizing and relocating. Senior Move Specialists was founded in 2006 in the Coachella Valley (Southern California). We continue to operate in California and in July of 2008 we expanded operations to include Las Vegas Nevada.
I am a certified relocation and transition specialist. As well, I worked in a home health agency with most of my clients being seniors and simultaneously took classes in social services and geriatrics. My interior design background allows me to assist the seniors in putting together a very functional and beautiful home. Through that combination of experience, I learned about helping and working with seniors. I decided to go into the senior care industry out of my respect and admiration for our seniors
Senior Move Specialists® will assist with all aspects of the relocation process starting with a plan and timeline and moving on to decisions about what to take to a new home including floor plans, downsizing, disposing of no longer needed items shipping articles to family or friends through to estate sales, consignment, auctions and donations, Contacting utility companies, taking care of change of address notifications, arranging for a mover, packing, unpacking connecting electronics, hanging pictures, staging the old home for
sale and even making the beds.
Senior Move Specialists® helps through the emotional, organizational, and physical problems of downsizing, or 'rightsizing'. Being sensitive to the feelings of the senior is a necessary attribute of a good senior move manager. Lending emotional support and being empathetic is critically important to a successful transition. Listening to concerns or offering a hug can go along way to developing trust between the senior and the move manager.
